When you are in school, take the time to learn all about health: Learn how to recognize symptoms of illness and how to help people with these symptoms. Being a health inspector means that you are going to be taking care of homes that individuals may possibly come into contact with. This means that you will need to have a background in science, chemistry and microbiology. It is important to have these skills because you will be working with infectious disease patients all day.

One thing that many people don’t think about: when becoming an inspector is sanitation. If you are doing a home inspection, you are going to be seeing if the home is clean and if there is proper ventilation. When someone sneezes or coughs they should have their respiratory system clear before moving in. Of course it doesn’t matter if they are coming in with the cold symptoms or if they are coming in with a hot allergy symptom, it still matters. A health inspector is responsible for keeping everyone living healthy so they should ensure that a home is clean and that there is good ventilation.

When a home is being inspected: the inspector is looking for telltale signs of illness. This could include anything from mildew to mold to animals and rodents. All of these things are potentially deadly and the inspector’s job is to warn the homeowner that they have a high level of danger. It is up to the homeowner to clean up any problems they see before the inspectors arrive.

The inspector’s job can also include determining: if a substance is dangerous to home occupants health. This can include testing for lead paint. If the paint test is positive, the inspector will warn the homeowner that lead paint needs to be replaced. Of course, they won’t tell them what type of lead paint is causing the problem unless the home is sold and the buyer asks them.

Being a health inspector does require quite a bit of responsibility: It is important that he or she maintains current good health standards. In order to do this well, a person must take several tests each year. These tests can range from blood work to stool samples. The health inspector will go to all of these resources in order to determine the state of his or her health.
