5 Ways To Reduce Your Health Care Costs

Body & Skin

Which of the following statements regarding psychological health is accurate? A. Physical health refers to well-being, and to a healthy mind/body-mind connection. The term is used to refer to a state of optimum physical and mental functioning. Existing conditions, either physiological or psychosocial, are only aspects of the complete self-actualization process, referred to as self-actualization. Psychologically, the term applies to accepting and loving oneself, maintaining positive beliefs about one’s abilities and qualities, being content in one’s strengths, and having realistic goals and aspirations.

A healthy mind/body-mind connection refers to the voluntary joining with wholeness, both physical and emotional, that results from a meaningful relationship with wholeness outside oneself (e.g., with other humans, animals, nature, and God). In psychology, this involves finding a sense of unity within the self through the acquisition of interpersonal relationships. This definition is not the same as the one used in the third paragraph of the previous paragraph regarding c. psychological health.

In psychological terms

The acquisition of physiological needs refers to obtaining what biological organisms require to survive. Humans, because they live in a world where survival means living, have developed an intricate set of needs that maintain their bodies, minds, and spirits healthy. These needs often take the form of volition, but may also be grounded in instinct, necessity, or service. A human being is said to be healthy if she has the ability to make choices (action), count (area under the head), solve problems (problem solving skill), interact constructively with others (interpersonal interaction), interact positively toward rewards (desire), and pursue happiness (ability to feel happiness). To put it another way, people are healthy when they can freely control their faculties and use those faculties in a satisfying way that leads to personal well-being. Humans must also be emotionally healthy to enjoy a wide range of human flourishing, including having a sense of “who I am,” and having a sense of social interconnectedness.

The third statement, which states, “Psychologically healthy people have a variety of psychologically important abilities,” is also true. Individuals who are emotionally healthy have a rich set of skills and capacities for acquiring and maintaining self-esteem, for building relationships, and for reaching goals. Emotionally healthy people are capable of a variety of socializing behaviors, including communicating effectively, making valuable contributions to relationships, and relating well with others. Those who are psychologically healthy are also capable of developing and maintaining a healthy mental health.

Finally, “healthy people know how to make their lives grow.”

Healthy people have an optimistic outlook on life and have a healthy self-image and self-esteem. They also have realistic expectations about the future, are self-confident, and are goal-oriented. The fourth statement which states that “healthy people accept and respect the differences that others may have,” is also true. Healthy people are able to see and recognize the perspectives of others, and they feel gratitude and appreciation for all that others do for them.
